ABOUT CAPTAIN MIKE

We have lived in Page and fished Lake Powell for 29 years! I started my fishing guide business in 2005. I retired from teaching in 2002 but returned to Page High School to teach Driver Education part-time (every other day), for the next six years. During my teaching career I have taught every grade level as a Physical Education teacher or elementary classroom teacher. While teaching at Page High School for 28 years I coached Track and Field for 20 years, Football for 5, Basketball 5 and Baseball 2. I was involved in Boy Scouts for 6 years as an Advancement Chairman and Scoutmaster. Growing up I earned my Eagle Scout award and I wanted my sons and others to  experience the good times scouting has to offer. Both of my sons earned their Eagle Scout award and have lots of great memeories. I also coached Little League for 3 years and served the city of Page as a volunteer Fireman for 6 years and an EMT for 2.

My two sons grew up fishing on Lake Powell. My sons always took their friends with us when we went fishing and still do when they get the chance. My wife of 37 years loves fishing also. She is the one in the picture holding a 4.4 pound smallmouth she caught! I have a 9 year old granddaughter Tayler that loves fishing. She has been fishing since she was one and a half years old using her “Barbie Doll Pole”. I now have a grandson Luke who is almost one and I can’t wait to take him and his mommy and daddy out to catch his first fish on Lake Powell!

I am a family man as you can see by the pictures below. We are very close. God, my family, loved ones and friends are the most important things in my life, fishing is right up there too!

I love taking people fishing and watching them catch their first fish or their hundredth. I enjoy children of all ages. Kids always have a great time on my boat. I hope to take you out for a Lake Powell experience someday soon. I am looking forward to showing you a great fishing trip on Lake Powell!
